Programme: TREND 12 Multi-robot aerial system for autonomous surveillance and inspection of large industrial complexes resistant to communication and GNSS signal failures

Time Period: 01/2025 – 12/2028

Project Description

The goal of the project is to develop a multi-robot system based on unmanned helicopters, which will perform autonomous simultaneous surveillance and inspection of large-scale industrial facilities. Individual drones will be equipped with sensors for collecting the required image data and sensors and software enabling autonomous navigation in the environment regardless of lighting conditions and the availability of communication and signal of global navigation satellite systems. The path-planning of the multi-robot missions will be specifically focused on the unpredictability of the paths while maintaining an efficient use of the limited flight time. A methodology will be created to support the integration of the developed system into existing security systems.
