Project Details
Project ID: FW10010379
Programme: FW – TREND
Time Period: 01/2024 – 06/2026
The project aims to develop a platform (aerial drone) capable of autonomous flight in a rugged power plant environment to perform visual inspections. The drone will be equipped with the necessary sensors and instruments for collecting usable image data.
A specific feature of the autonomous flight means repeatability of the inspection route and reaching the same location with the drone at different times. During the flight, the drone will avoid obstacles that are not known and planned in the route plan.
The autonomous flight will be supported by the system’s ability to autonomously detect a defect such as a crack, leak, loose bolts, etc.
A methodology will be created to allow visual inspections to be performed by the system in a correct and repeatable manner with adequate quality.
